Abstract

Ruth Avery Wiens was an experienced psychiatric mental health nurse who worked at St Vincent Hospital and Medical Center as its Nursing Director; at the Veterans Administration Hospital; and at the UO School of Nursing as Dean Pro-Tem during the transition in SON leadership between Jean Boyle (1957-75) and Carol Lindeman (1976-95).
