Robert Stone Dow papers
The genesis of neurological sciences research in the Pacific Northwest is detailed in this collection. Dr. Robert Stone Dow (1908-95) was locally educated at Linfield College (BA 1929), and University of Oregon Medical School (M.A., M.D., 1934; Ph.D., 1935). Mentored by Dr. Olaf Larsell he began his life's work in Neurology which resulted in the creation of the Neurological Sciences Institute (NSI).
Olof Larsell papers
Olaf Larsell was considered a prominent educator and author in the field of anatomy and won international fame for his research on the cerebellum. He was a noted researcher on the structures of the brain, nervous system, sinuses, and lungs. The collection contains research materials, manuscripts, notes, and photographs.
Multnomah County Hospital records
The Multnomah County Hospital was built to serve the county’s poorest patients, and also to provide practical experience for physicians in training – residents, interns, and students from the nearby University of Oregon Medical School. This collection contains patient records, administrative records, and intern class photographs.

The collection consists of twenty glass lantern slides of the University of Oregon Medical School faculty members and their families. The slides were used for a presentation in 1950 and donated by the University of Oregon Medical School Department of Bacteriology Head, Harry J. Sears, Ph.D., from 1918 until 1956.
