Loose prescriptions and a newspaper clipping, 1909
Scope and Contents
In the first box, the prescriptions scrapbook contains 1,938 written prescriptions dated between 1897 and 1899. There are up to five prescriptions pasted on each page - most of them are from the pharmacist F.H. Caldwell from North Yamhill, Oregon. The loose prescriptions - all written by various pharmacists - are contained in a folded piece of paper dated 1909. A newspaper clipping pasted to a small print of the Exchange National Bank in Spokane, WA is undated and describes the health benefits of drinking a glass of hot water before breakfast every morning. The second box in the collection contains 21 medicinal bottles, 4 tins and one empty box of salts. Some of the bottles still contain tablets or liquids.
