General

Display material found with photo of 1983 delegation describes this banner as a gift: "The Hokkaido University School of Dentistry presented its Official Banner to the [OHSU SOD]. This banner, with a backgraoud of green and white trillium in the center is shown [in the photo]. The Trillium is considered a weed in Sapporo. It grows on the University campus and blossoms from May to July. The Trillium is a very enduring weed and the ideogram for this plant means 'extending-life-weed'. Also seen on the banner are ideograms for the words 'tooth' and 'university'."
