Scope and Contents

The materials in the collection consist of the documentation of proposals for the establishment and development of the Office of Academic Affairs, its functions, reporting mechanisms, and responsibilities. Later records in the collection were produced by the office during its regular operating duties.

Historical

The Office for Academic Affairs was established in 1978 to provide a liaison with student organizations, provide support to All-Hill Student Councel, to maintain lists of student officers and records of elections, and to prepare annual updates of student handbooks. The office was also apointed to support Academic Personnel Records Management, the Library, Media Services, and the Animal Care Department. The functions of the office were to interpret administrative rules and advise on greivance procedures.

Abstract

The materials in the collection are the documents describing the responsibilities and functions of the Office for Academic Affiars, resources required for the office, steps and factors to be considered for the office, and a job description for the positon of the Vice President who would head the office. The resulting documentation describes the establishment of the aforementioned criteria and the working papers of the President and others, along with records produced by the office during the course of operation.
