Louis Terkla, D.D.S., initiated the sister school connection between OHSU and Hokkaido University's schools of dentistry in 1973 to give students the option to travel to each city to develop their dental education. This collection consists of gifts, correspondence, photos, certificates, and various items collected in the relationship between the two schools.

These records provide insight into the life of a Great Depression era working professional.
