Dr. Archie R. Tunturi worked from approximately 1944 to 1984 at the University of Oregon Medical School. He was an Associate Professor of anatomy and a researcher focusing on the brain’s auditory cortex and the nerve paths for sound to the brain; his later research largely focused on treating spinal cord injuries.
