Donald L. Blanchard papers
These papers consist of materials written and collected by Dr. Donald Blanchard who studied at OHSU and worked in the ophthalmology department. Within this collection are many writings by Blanchard, including writings about Georg Bartisch and his work, a translation of Bartisch’s text Ophthalmodouleia, work on ophthalmology, and papers for the Cogan Ophthalmic History Society's annual meetings.
Thomas J. Fox papers
Dr. Thomas J. Fox, originally from Marshfield, Oregon, attended the University of Oregon Medical School from 1904 to 1908 and graduated with an M.D. in 1909. His papers represents materials used and notes taken while in medical school.
Frederick A. Kiehle slide collection
A graduate of the University of Minnesota in 1901, Kiehle moved out to Portland in 1908 to open a practice and was an instructor in University of Oregon Medical School Department of Ophthalmology from 1912 to 1918 and then Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology from 1918 to 1929. He headed the department until 1945 when he achieved the title of Professor Emeritus.
Kenneth C. Swan papers
Kenneth C. Swan was a long-time Chief of Ophthalmology whose papers include article reprints, research materials, personal papers, departmental business matters, promotional ephemera and publications, lectures, and meeting notes. They cover not only his own research and inventions in ophthalmologic disease and surgery, but also the creation and expansion of the Casey Eye Institute in conjunction with the Oregon Elks Association.
