The OHSU accreditation records collection houses the insitutional accreditation studies and reports of OHSU as evaluated by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and the Northwest Commission on Schools and Universities. This collection consists of accreditation records, correspondence, minutes, and memos.

Abstract The Department of Public Health and Preventative Medicine (PHPM) was officially founded at the University of Oregon Medical School (UOMS, now OHSU) in 1941 to examine social hygiene (later known as public health), family life, and sex education, especially the prevention of venereal disease. Abstract

The OHSU library was founded in 1893 as part of the University of Oregon Medical Department. In 1919, the library’s 4,000 books moved up the hill to what is now Mackenzie Hall. In 1939, the library moved into a new building next door and then relocated again in 1991 with the opening of the Biomedical Information Communication Center (BICC). This collection spans the library’s history, with materials produced largely by library employees and committee members.
