Colonel Strohm's nurses photograph album
Dr. J. Guy Strohm was an early organizer of the 46th General Hospital and served in North Africa (Oran) and France (Besancon) as commanding officer of the hospital. Images in this collection are of soldiers, nurses, and hospital personnel under Strohm's command at the 46th General Hospital 46.
Eleanor Donaldson papers
The Eleanor Donaldson papers span the years 1909 to 1954 and contain an assortment of materials kept by or about Eleanor, primarily during her time serving in the Nurse Corps of Base Hospital 46 in Bazoilles-sur-Meuse, France during World War I. Materials include photographs, posters, correspondence, publications, obituaries, artifacts, and other documents.
Grace Phelps papers
Grace Phelps (1871-1952) was a prominent Oregonian health professional and nursing advocate who maintained a career as a practicing nurse from approximately 1900 to 1942. This collection houses the professional and public records of Grace Phelps, and includes materials relating to her time as head nurse at Base Hospitals 45 and 46 during WWI; head nurse at the Portland Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital; and Superintendent at Doernbecher Memorial Hospital for Children.
Evart A. Tinker 46th General Hospital scrapbooks
Evart A. Tinker was a Technical Sergeant with the 46th Base Hospital in Besancon, France. His collection is comprised of photographs he took and arranged in handmade cardboard scrapbooks. Materials cover France, North Africa, and Switzerland as well as images of prisoners and soldiers.
