Midwifery history slides, undated
Scope and Contents
These OHSU Nurse-Midwifery Program records originated with Carol Howe, and consist of correspondence, programs, presentations, pamphlets, minutes, articles, staff photographs, teaching videos and slides, grant applications, certifications, surveys, historical documents, birth records, program evaluations, and ephemera dating from 1979 to 2011. Several folders’ contents focus specifically on Howe, one of the program’s founding faculty members, and contains artifacts and documents from her time with OHSU. Digital records include agendas, minutes, images, and more from a variety of ventures, such as the Midwives of Color Committee, ethics and liability concerns, educational courses, and grant opportunities (contact HC&A for more on these records). This collection provides insight into the formation and day-to-day operations of the program, its employees, and students.
