The collection consists of 2 photographs of David E. Sullivan, M.D., M.C. USN, USS Saratoga, a photograph of a watercolor by Lt. (jg) Mitchell Jamieson, USNR Official U. S. Navy-Combat Artist, titled, Appendectomy at Sea; Naval Aviation News, May 15, 1944; and one letter of correspondence between David Sullivan and Mrs. McLean.

Biographical Note
David E. Sullivan, M.D., was an Oregon physician who served in the United States Navy during World War II. As a member of the Navy Medical Corps he served as a medical officer on the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga during the Pacific campaigns.
