Scope and Content
One cardboard ledger with leather at ends and corners. Contains typewritten reports on bond paper of the minutes of the Medical School Comittee of the University's Board of Regents, made by Committee Secretary Ralf Couch, Business Manager of the Medical School. They cover the period from March 26, 1926 to May 24, 1929. They cover everything including budgets, equipment and staff needs, building maintenance, fee schedules, payroll, and other miscellaneous business affairs. There are 31 blank pages in the ledger.

Historical Note
The University of Oregon was created by an act of the Oregon Legislature in 1872. In 1876, the Legislature passed an act to "Provide for the Support and Government of the University of Oregon." Section 2 of that act vested the government of the University in a nine-person Board of Regents. In 1929, the Legislature established the State Department of Higher Education and invested it with the power previously held by the individual Boards of Regents at all Oregon universities.
