Scope and Contents

The collection consists of eighty 35mm color slides contained in four sleeves within one folder. With images taken from 1964 through about 1980, the slides in the collection were most likely used as examples to instruct new employees on cleaning practices.

Historical Note

The Hospital Environmental Services Department provides housekeeping and cleaning for hospital facilities. These services include signage, floor refinishing, trash pickup, construction support, custodial work for restrooms, and area cleaning for terminals, public areas, surgical rooms and exam rooms.

Abstract

The Hospital Environmental Services Department provides housekeeping and cleaning for hospital facilities. The OHSU Hospital Environmental Services Slide Collection consists of eighty 35mm color slides contained in four sleeves within one folder. With images taken from 1964 through about 1980, the slides were most likely used for instructional purposes in documenting housekeeping tasks at the hospital.

Technical Access

A light table and magnifier are useful tools to access the 35mm slides but not required.
