Materials pertain to Doernbecher Memorial Hospital for Children, University of Oregon Medical School, and are composed of photographs or nurses with children and newspaper clippings. The clippings are mostly focused on the surgery of the conjoined Stubblefield twins (Denette Linn and Jeanett Kim), along with one article on a kidney transplant for a set of identcal twins (Charlotte and Charlene Hamilton).

Biographical Note

Doernbecher Memorial Children's Hospital was created through a charitable trust established by local furniture manufacturer Frank Silas Doernbecher, of the Doernbecher Manufacturing Company. The hospital was opened in 1926 on Portland's Marquam Hill and was part of the University of Oregon Medical School, which became Oregon Health & Science University.
