Louis G. Terkla, D.M.D., (March 24, 1925 - September 11, 2022) graduated from the University of Oregon Dental School in 1952. He soon joined the faculty there and eventually became Dean of the Dental School serving from 1967 to 1984. This collection encompasses a diverse range of materials primarily related to Terkla’s professional activities and contributions to the field of dentistry.

Wilbur Nelson Van Zile is known for his improvements and accomplishments in maxillofacial surgery. He served with the Navy Dental Corps during World War II, as Chief of Dental Services and Oral Surgeon at various Naval Hospitals, and as Professor and Chairman in the Department of Oral Surgery at the University of Oregon Dental School.
