Abstract

Dr. Matthew Caldwell was, of Umpqua, Oregon, graduated from the Ohio Medical College in 1848. After graduation, he worked as a doctor for steamship lines on the China run from San Francisco and later moved to a practice in Phoenix, OR until retirement due to ill health.

Edwards (1929-2006) have donated a variety of materials pertaining to their careers and longstanding ties with the Medical School. Lowell Edwards was internationally famous for his part in the invention of the Starr-Edwards Heart Valve.
