Dr. Hoffmann was a Portland native and graduate of the University of Oregon Medical School, class of 1907, who served the community of Woodland, Washington for most of his career. The Carl Julius Hoffmann Scrapbook is a leather bound memorial book prepared by the community of Woodland, dedicated to Carl J. Hoffmann, M.D. for his 40 years of medical service.

Abstract Dietitians were one of the earliest health professions trained at the University of Oregon Medical School located on Marquam Hill in Portland, Oregon. The student dietitian training program began in 1930-31. Under the auspices of the Oregon Dietetic Association, the program was sponsored by Portland area hospitals, including Multnomah County Hospital and Doernbecher Memorial Hospital for Children. Abstract Lucy I. Davis began her service at UOMS in 1918 and continued her duties until shortly before her death on October 8, 1943. John Guy Strohm scrapbook: Base Hospital 46

Abstract

Dr. John Guy Strohm came to Oregon shortly before World War I, organized the first army unit to leave Portland, and was in the original nucleus of the 91st division. He also organized the 46th General Hospital sponsored by the University of Oregon Medical School. The scrapbook contains primarily collected newspaper clippings as well as a photograph, booklet, correspondence, and other documents.
