North Pacific College of Oregon

Dr. Frank G. Everett (1907-1976) was born in Vienna, Austria, where he attended the Medical and Dental schools of the University of Vienna. He came to Portland, Oregon in 1939, attended the North Pacific College and the University of Oregon Medical School, and later served on the faculties of both the Dental and Medical Schools of UOMS. This collection, dating from 1932 to 1984, houses some of his research and scholarly output, including papers, photographic slides, and tissue slides.

The collection consists of 1 half-sized document box of photographic prints, news clippings, event programs, correspondence, certificates, tickets, and other material that illustrate the life and work of prosthodontist Fred E. Gulick, D.M.D., F.A.C.D. The collection spans 1889-1957 and highlights different aspects of Gulick's life, including his childhood, dental education, military service, and professional involvement.

This collection shows the wide variety of documentation of health professionals of the 19th and 20th centuries. It includes, but is not limited to, degree-granting medical institutions around the world. The individuals named likewise were not all affiliated with the University of Oregon or its various incarnations.

Dr. Herbert C. Miller, D.D.S., M.D., founded the North Pacific College of Dentistry in 1898. As president, he gave North Pacific College of Dentistry to the State of Oregon in 1945. The collection consists of personal papers and photographs and professional documents from Miller's career as an early dentist in the Pacific Northwest.

The collection consists of records created, used, or kept by faculty and staff of the North Pacific College of Oregon (formerly the North Pacific Dental College) in Portland, Oregon, spanning the years 1898-1966.

The Tacoma College of Dental Surgery moved to Portland in 1899 and, through many years of growth and changed, eventually became today's OHSU School of Dentistry. The collection consists of records, minutes, correspondence, administrative documents, pictures, publications, curriculum and school materials and other materials related to teaching and work done in the OHSU School of Dentistry.

The Tacoma College of Dental Surgery moved to Portland in 1899 and, through many years of growth and change, eventually became today's OHSU School of Dentistry. The collection consists of images of the students, faculty, and staff; various locations on and off campus; equipment; and other assorted materials.
