Abstract

UOMS Dept. of Nursing held clerkships during WWII, which has been defined as "Clinical clerkship: Full-time supervised learning experience in a clinical setting". Several patient studies were made by nurses. Eight of them are included here.

Arrangement

The nursing studies are arranged by date. Though patient names and other PHI are in the files, no such information is listed in the inventory itself. The cases are referred to by their diagnostic descriptions.

Other Finding Aids

Another clerkship collection is the UOMS Senior Papers: Surgery Clerkships 1940-1945, Accession # 2008-006.

Separated Materials

The Nursing Care Study of "Ruptured Appendix" by Margaret Beattie March 21,1943 was separated for use in the Centennial Project Exhibit in Jan. 2011. It was returned after the exhibit.
