Though the folder level description indicates content dates, the dates do not necessarily indicate comprehensive ranges for series. The dates only state the included dates within the folder. Some folders are sparse containing only a few documents while others are more inclusive. The materials are mostly copies on fragile and highly acidic paper from various departments of the University of Oregon Medical School consisting of correspondence, reports, surveys and a multitude of everyday office affairs of a large educational institution.

Historical Note
University Relations and Public Affairs, now known as OHSU Strategic Communications manages the media produced by and about the university, including major news stories and events. The department has held different names throughout the years, including University News and Publications and the Communications Office.

Abstract
This collection is a multitude of materials reflecting the wide-ranging interests of the Business and Public Relations Offices. Among them are supply invoices; correspondence with campus, city and state offices; finances; hospital and clinic programs and procedures; student education, commencement programs, catalogs, and other printed materials; and press releases.
Arrangement
URPA records are serialized into sections on Hospitals & Clinics;Education;Business Office Affairs with a subsection on OSSHE;and Finance. Within those fields files are arranged by subject chronologically. Some files are dated by fiscal year.
