Abstract Dr. E. Murray Burns graduated from the University of Oregon Medical School (now Oregon Health & Science University) in 1931. He went on to complete residencies in neuropsychiatry at Wisconsin General Hospital and in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. In 1941, he joined the 46th General Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Naida F. Hoffman Hurlburt served in the Nurse Army Corps during World War II in the 46th General Hospital. She was stationed in North Africa and Southern France and eanred the rank of 1st Lieutenant in 1945.
