Abstract

Dr. Charles Conrad Carter was a 1948 graduate of University of Oregon Medical School (UOMS) and long-time faculty member of the Neurology Department. He has collected a variety of materials, mostly relating to student days and collected at class reunions in 1988 and 1998.

Abstract The family of M. Lowell Edwards (1898-1982) and his son Miles J. Edwards (1929-2006) have donated a variety of materials pertaining to their careers and longstanding ties with the Medical School. Lowell Edwards was internationally famous for his part in the invention of the Starr-Edwards Heart Valve. Dr. Melvin Paul Judkins was a trained urologist and general practitioner who made a mid-life transition into cardiovascular radiology. In his career at University of Oregon Medical School (UOMS) from 1961-1970 he made groundbreaking advances in cardiac surgery.

Abstract The materials consist of 1 SVHS tape and 1 VHS tape containing photographs of the University of Oregon Medical School campus and student body, taken by class of 1946 alumni, Allan Robert McClary, M.D., Peter Vogal, and J.T. Montgomery. McClary compiled the images and created the original SVHS tape. To make more accessible, the donated SVHS tape was reformatted to VHS during processing.
