Biographical Note

The Student Activities Building of the University of Oregon Medical School celebrated its opening on October 4, 1960. The building was designed for use by all student groups of the University of Oregon Medical, Dental, and Nursing schools, as well as faculty and alumni. The facility was financed through student fees and a university bond issue of $205,000. The $350,000 two-story facility provides athletic, recreational, and social opportunities. The facility includes a full-sized gymnasium, a meeting room that can be used for dancing (with a kitchen nearby), a lounge, a game room, a well-equipped exercise room, a handball court, a squash court, and locker rooms with complete shower facilities.
