Abstract

The Biomedical Information Communication Center (BICC) at OHSU was completed and opened in 1991. The goal of this building was to bring together all of OHSU's information or communication services. Spanning from 1981 to 2016, the collection consists of materials on the planning, promotion, construction, and the opening of the building, along with the move into it. Materials also document the information and technology programs available at OHSU at the time.

Abstract Dr. H. Leslie Frewing served as a surgeon with the 46th General Hospital during World War II. After the war ended, Frewing settled with his family in Vancouver, Washington, and became one of the four founders of The Vancouver Clinic before continuing medical work abroad. Summary

Sheila M. Kodadek R.N., Ph.D.,F.A.A.N. has donated a large variety of materials collected while Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the School of Nursing at OHSU. The BSN program at the Western Oregon University in Monmouth; a public school health program at Merlo Station H.S. in Beaverton; and curriculum issues are highlighted in this collection.

Abstract Lumber baron Frank Silas Doernbecher left a sizeable allotment from his estate for what ultimately became the Doernbecher Memorial Hospital for Children. The collection consist of photographs of the University of Oregon Medical School taken by Charles F. Norris. He is considered to be the first full-time photographer for UOMS.

Abstract

The Student Activities Building was designed for use by students of each school at the University of Oregon Medical School. The building opened on October 4, 1960. The materials in this collection consist of correspondence, brochures, and blueprints pertaining to the structure.
