Biographical Note

Julian Stephen "Dutch" Reinschmidt (1925-1998) was born in Pensacola, Florida, October 25, 1925. Medical degree at Vanderbilt (1953). He joined University of Oregon Medical School (1970) as faculty in Public Health and Preventive Medicine and simultaneously directed the Oregon Regional Medical Program. Head of Continuing Medical Education (CME) from 1976-94. Interim SOM Dean (1983-84) and Senior Associate Dean from 1984. Director of the Oregon AHEC program (1988-94). Senior Associate Dean and Professor Emeritus 1993-98. He died of leukemia June 16, 1998. Biographical file accessed 2013-7-2.

Abstract

A collection of papers, photographs, and oral and written interviews of Dean J.S. "Dutch" Reinschmidt. Longtime Head of Continuing Education at OHSU, he was a driving force behind the Oregon Area Health Education Center's (AHEC) program from 1988.
