Historical Note
The Executive Faculty is the governing body of the Medical School. The chief function of the Executive Faculty Committee was to provide the Dean with representative faculty opinion and counsel regarding the affairs and problems of the Medical School, especially administrative and operational policies.
Membership at this time was determined by election of existing committee members with majority vote, consisting of Dean, chief administrative officers, departmental chairmen, and other members nominated by the Dean and elected by the committee. The Dean served as the presiding officer.
The Dean preared the agendas, mailing them out to faculty a week prior to the meetings. Meetings were usually held the first Friday of each month from September to June. Notes were taken by the Executive Committee Secretary, William A. Zimmerman.
