Dorothy Robinson Mann graduated from University of Oregon Medical School Department of Nursing in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps until 1945. This collection contains photographs taken during Mann’s service which provide insight into the life and training of a nurse at that time, as well as a selection of Army records and additional papers.

Established in 1976, the Nurse-Midwifery Program at OHSU enables nursing students to become certified in midwifery while earning their masters. This collection, originating from program founder Carol Howe, consists of records on Howe herself, the Midwives of Color Committee, ethics and liability concerns, educational courses, and grant opportunities, among other topics.
