The Sheila Kodadek Papers consist of materials concerning several large projects Kodadek was involved in over time. These include the BSN program at WOU in Monmouth,Or.; the Helene Fuld Trust; Northwest Health Foundation; the school clinic at Merlos Station High School in Beaverton Or.; curriculum issues like the Accelerated Baccalaureate program; newsletters; and materials for a series of family health nursing workshops.

Biographical Note

Sheila Kodadek was born May 3, 1947. She took a BSN in Minnesota, MSN in Colorado and her Ph.D. in Chicago. She came to hold a dual position with the OHSU School of Nursing and Crippled Childrens Division of the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center (UOHSC) in 1981 as instructor and director of nursing and training. Her emphasis was family nursing and was instrumental in curriculum planning for the SON. She received a teaching award (1988) and became chair of Family Nursing and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies. Full Professor (1998). She expanded nursing education throughout the state with a variety of county training programs, accelerated baccalaureate programs, school health clinics, and state-wide workshops.

Summary

Sheila M. Kodadek R.N., Ph.D.,F.A.A.N. has donated a large variety of materials collected while Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the School of Nursing at OHSU. The BSN program at the Western Oregon University in Monmouth; a public school health program at Merlo Station H.S. in Beaverton; and curriculum issues are highlighted in this collection.

The Kodadek papers have been separated into 7 document boxes of material which cover the following areas: The BSN program at Western Oregon University at Monmouth; the Helene Fuld Trust; the Northwest Health Foundation (NWHF); Merlo Station health clinic; curriculum issues; newsletters and workshop materials.
