Lowell and Miles Edwards papers

Abstract The family of M. Lowell Edwards (1898-1982) and his son Miles J. Edwards (1929-2006) have donated a variety of materials pertaining to their careers and longstanding ties with the Medical School. Lowell Edwards was internationally famous for his part in the invention of the Starr-Edwards Heart Valve. Abstract

Dr. Frank G. Everett (1907-1976) was born in Vienna, Austria, where he attended the Medical and Dental schools of the University of Vienna. He came to Portland, Oregon in 1939, attended the North Pacific College and the University of Oregon Medical School, and later served on the faculties of both the Dental and Medical Schools of UOMS. This collection, dating from 1932 to 1984, houses some of his research and scholarly output, including papers, photographic slides, and tissue slides.

Abstract

Wilmot C. Foster, born June 21, 1893 in Sheridan, Oregon, was an alumni of University of Oregon and University of Oregon Medical School (UOMS). He obtained his license to practice medicine in Oregon in 1920 and later went on to become the head of the UOMS Anatomy department. This collection consists of lantern slides used for teaching during his tenure at UOMS.
