George Horace Coshow was a 1930 graduate of the University of Oregon Medical School. This collection contains class notebooks from 1926 to 1928.

Abstract

Wilmot C. Foster, born June 21, 1893 in Sheridan, Oregon, was an alumni of University of Oregon and University of Oregon Medical School (UOMS). He obtained his license to practice medicine in Oregon in 1920 and later went on to become the head of the UOMS Anatomy department. This collection consists of lantern slides used for teaching during his tenure at UOMS.

Abstract

In 1967, the Oregon System of Higher Education and the University of Oregon Medical School began to think of a thorough reassessment of planning, which resulted in the "Oregon Higher Education Management Review and Analysis" study in 1970. This became popularly known as the "Warren King Report" from the consultancy firm which created it. This collection consists of 2 copies of the report along with department reports, commentary, and correspondence in response to the report.

Dr. Madison Macht is a graduate of OHSU and practicing pulmonologist in Aurora, Colorado. The Madison Macht collection contains mixed records and materials used in Dr. Macht’s personal and professional research on physicians Howard P. Lewis and J. Englebert Dunphy.

Abstract The materials consist of 1 SVHS tape and 1 VHS tape containing photographs of the University of Oregon Medical School campus and student body, taken by class of 1946 alumni, Allan Robert McClary, M.D., Peter Vogal, and J.T. It spans the years 1922-1958, covering a variety of subject matter related to medical practice and education in Oregon, including articles on activities at the University of Oregon Medical School and Multnomah County Hospital. There is no known information about who compiled the scrapbooks.

Osterud (1923-2004) served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Korean War and joined the UOMS Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in 1961, serving as Department Chairman from 1967 until his retirement in 1990. This collection contains correspondence, reports, memoranda, documentation, public relations ephemera, publications, and more.

This collections holds records of some of those institutions, including hospital registers, death books, and other assorted registration and medical care ledgers dating from 1915 to 1973.

UOMS Dept. of Nursing held clerkships during WWII, which has been defined as "Clinical clerkship: Full-time supervised learning experience in a clinical setting". Several patient studies were made by nurses. Eight of them are included here.
