The materials consist of papers regarding industrial health and safety in the workplace, most of which were created and compiled by Medical Director of the Oregon Shipbuilding Corporation, Forrest E. Rieke, M.D. The Oregon Shipbuilding Corporation, located in St. Johns, was among three Kaiser Shipyards established in Portland, Oregon in order to mass assemble war ships during WWII.

Robert L. and Borgny C. Rose papers
Robert Leon Rose served in the U.S. Army as a part of the 46th General Hospital during World War II. The Robert Leon Rose Papers document Robert's relationship with wife Borgny Christofferson Rose, R.N., containing transcribed letters passed between them while Robert was overseas during the war as well as a bound biography of the Rose's, edited by their granddaughter Karyl Groeneveld.

Anne Rosenfeld papers
Anne Rosenfeld, Ph.D.,R.N., C.N.S., F.A.H.A., was associate professor and co-director, OHSU Center for Research on Symptom Management in Life-Threatening Illness and Associate Dean for Research, Innovation and Translation in the School of Nursing. Her papers include an extensive collection of articles and artifacts spanning over 20 years. Cardiology and heart health awareness are the primary topics covered in the contents of the papers.
Sackler manuscripts collection
Dr. John Besson collected these four papers written by Arthur, Mortimer, and Raymond Sackler while they were on the staff of Creedmoor State Hospital in New York in 1950.
David J. Sahn slide collection
Dr. David J. Sahn (1945-2021) was an expert in cardiac imaging and diagnosis with both pediatric and adult patients. At OHSU, he served as professor of pediatrics, diagnostic radiology, obstetrics and gynecology, and biomedical engineering, and as the director of the interdisciplinary program in cardiac imaging and head of the Clinical Care Center for Congenital Heart Disease and Referrals. This collection consists of medical slides encompassing his work, practice, and teaching.
George Saslow Reprint collection
George Saslow, Ph.D, M.D., was Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oregon Medical School from 1957-1973. The collection consists of three document boxes of article reprints pertaining to Saslow's field of study, including articles authored or co-authored by Saslow as well as articles authored by others, spanning 1923-1980.
